The FDA has new food menu labeling rules that will become effective May 2, 2017. The rules require restaurants and similar retail food outlets with 20 or more locations nationwide, doing business under the same name and offering for sale substantially the same menu items to provide certain information for standard menu items. The rules also apply to alcohol products. Recently the FDA issued a new guidance document on these rules on April 29, 2016, and extended the compliance deadline to May 2, 2017. This presentation will provide an update on last year’s presentation on these rules; what changes have occurred in the last year; and how members should prepare to comply with them in the coming months.
