Jamila Johnson, an associate in the Seattle office of Northwest law firm Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt, was recently appointed by Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn to the Seattle Women’s Commission where she will serve as the Commission co-chair.

The Seattle Women’s Commission advises the mayor, city council and city departments on issues that impact the women of Seattle. The Commission identifies areas of concern and recommends policy and legislation, provides feedback and opinion on issues of city and state budget, and acts as a liaison between the women of Seattle and city government.

“This appointment is very exciting and I can’t wait to see the wonderful contributions Jamila will make to the Seattle Women’s Commission as its co-chair,” said Mark Long, managing partner for Schwabe.

Johnson focuses her practice in the area of commercial, tort and real property litigation. Prior to joining Schwabe, Johnson worked as a freelance writer for various Seattle-based magazines.

Johnson holds a juris doctor degree from the University of Washington School of Law and a bachelor of arts degree from Seattle University.
