Former Oregon Supreme Court Justice W. Michael “Mick” Gillette, now a shareholder in the Portland office of regional law firm Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt, recently received the Justice Hans A. Linde Award from the Oregon Lawyer Chapter of the American Constitution Society.

The Justice Hans A. Linde Award is intended to honor Oregonians who promote the values of individual rights and liberties, genuine equality, access to justice, and the rule of law. The American Constitution Society works for positive change by shaping debate on vitally important legal and constitutional issues through development and promotion of high-impact ideas to opinion leaders and the media.

Gillette is a shareholder in Schwabe’s commercial litigation group where he brings his extensive knowledge of administrative law and the appellate process. Prior to joining Schwabe, he served as Associate Justice for the Oregon Supreme Court from 1986 until his retirement on December 31, 2010. Gillette graduated from Harvard Law School with a juris doctor degree.
