U.S. News – Best Lawyers magazine, one of the nation’s leading publications in the rankings of law firms and attorneys, recently named Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt its “Law Firm of the Year” in Timber Law. This is the first year the well-respected survey has recognized a single law firm as top in the nation among the 39 practice areas identified for national ranking.

“We are very excited to have Schwabe’s forest products industry practice recognized as the best in the country,” said Mark Long, Schwabe’s managing partner. “The forest products industry has long been an important focus for the firm and we will continue to grow and enhance what has become one of our most highly regarded practice areas.”

Schwabe’s Forest Products Industry practice is one of the largest and oldest in the Pacific Northwest. Through an expanding network of strategic relations with international and local counsel, Schwabe represents clients across the country and internationally on a broad spectrum of issues related to forest products. Collectively, Schwabe clients own or manage more than 10 million acres of forestland in the United States and overseas, as well as operate and manage manufacturing, distribution and other complementary forest products businesses.

U.S. News – Best Lawyers selects just one law firm in each category surveyed. Schwabe received recognition in the forest products category based on outstanding client survey outcomes and the firm’s strong reputation among competing attorneys in the same practice area. To be eligible for a U.S. News – Best Lawyers national ranking, a law firm must maintain an office in one of 40 metropolitan areas in the U.S.
