The Seattle office of Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt recently added four new attorneys to its ranks, significantly bolstering its business and commercial litigation, bankruptcy and creditors’ rights practices, in addition to adding new capabilities in Indian Law. The new attorneys include Troy Greenfield, Larry Ream, Rick Birinyi and Connie Sue Martin. Additionally, attorney Judith Whitehouse has joined Schwabe and will maintain an office in Santa Rosa, Calif. All were formerly with Bullivant Houser Bailey.

Troy Greenfield has a nationally recognized commercial trial practice, emphasizing securities, intellectual property, unfair trade practices and bankruptcy-creditors’ rights. He was lead litigation and trial counsel in a successful $375,000,000 fraudulent transfer and equitable subordination action brought on behalf of the Yellowstone Club. Most recently, he successfully defended a manufacturer against multi-million dollar trade practices claims, brought by a competing foreign manufacturer in Illinois Federal Court. Greenfield is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America. For a number of years, he has been recognized by Thomson Reuters as a Washington Super Lawyer for his work in commercial litigation. He was also selected by Seattle Metropolitan Magazine as a Top Lawyer, in the area of intellectual property. Greenfield graduated from Willamette University College of Law with a juris doctor degree.

Larry Ream focuses his practice in the areas of real estate, banking, workouts, Chapter 11 reorganizations and other debtor and creditor transactions. He has represented creditors, debtors, trustees, receivers, and unsecured creditor committees in Washington, Oregon, California, Alaska and Montana. He is a regular speaker on Chapter 11 and other creditor and debtor issues. Ream graduated from Gonzaga University School of Law with a juris doctor degree.

Rick Birinyi practices in the area of creditor/debtor issues, corporate reorganizations, business transactions and complex commercial litigation. He has participated in cases before bankruptcy courts in Montana, Idaho, Alaska, Oregon and Washington. He has represented creditors, debtors, trustees, unsecured creditors’ committees and bondholder’s committees in connection with reorganization cases. Birinyi graduated from Seattle University School of Law with a juris doctor degree.

Connie Sue Martin has fifteen years of environmental law experience. She focuses her practice in the area of environmental and natural resource litigation. Martin is recognized for her knowledge of Indian law, especially natural resource damages claims. She has represented clients in dozens of environmental matters, including citizen suits under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) and the Clean Water Act. Martin graduated from Seattle University School of Law with a juris doctor degree.

Judith Whitehouse focuses her practice on banking, debtor/creditor rights and related bankruptcy litigation. She has represented clients in courts throughout California. Whitehouse graduated from Golden Gate University School of Law with a juris doctor degree.

The addition of these individuals grows the number of attorneys in the Seattle office from 29 to 33, a 14 percent increase.
