Jamila Johnson, an associate in the Seattle office of Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt, recently joined the board of directors of Washington Low Income Housing Alliance Action Fund.

The Washington Low Income Housing Alliance Action Fund leads the movement to ensure that all Washington residents thrive in safe, healthy, affordable homes by seeking to elect champions for housing.

Johnson has been the chair of the Seattle Women Commission since 2010 when she was appointed to the Commission by Mayor Mike McGinn. Her work on the Commission brought her face-to-face with the challenges women confront finding safe and affordable housing in the community.

Johnson focuses her practice in the area of constitutional and commercial litigation. In 2011, she received the King County Bar Association’s Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year award and in 2012 was named a Rising Star with Super Lawyers Magazine. Johnson holds a juris doctor degree from the University of Washington School of Law and a bachelor of arts degree from Seattle University.
