Charmin Shiely, a shareholder in the Portland office of Schwabe Williamson & Wyatt, was recently appointed to serve on the board of the YMCA of Columbia-Willamette.
The YMCA of Columbia-Willamette offers a diverse range of quality and affordable programs that help children thrive and grow, inspire young people to lead, bring families closer together and encourage individual health and wellness. The Y is a volunteer-driven charitable nonprofit.

Shiely has participated in the YMCA’s Strong Communities Campaign for six years and has three children who are or have been in the YMCA’s childcare program.
Shiely focuses her practice in the areas of business transactions, corporate finance and commercial finance. She is experienced in public and private mergers, public offerings and private placements, asset sales, securities law advising, and commercial finance. She frequently advises on structuring executive and equity compensation and business transition planning. Shiely also focuses on transactions in the maritime industry, including vessel build contracts, vessel sales, vessel financing, charter parties and port leases. Shiely received her Juris Doctor degree from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, School of Law and her undergraduate degree from Duke University.
