Jeffrey Eden, shareholder in the Portland office of Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt, joins the Product Liability Advisory Council as a sustaining member.

Product Liability Advisory Council (PLAC) members are among the most experienced and capable in-house and outside product liability defense attorneys in the nation. Sustaining membership of PLAC is by invitation only and extended by the PLAC board of directors to those attorneys who they consider to be the best trial and appellate lawyers in the product liability bar. Only individual lawyers, not their firms, are eligible for membership, provided that they maintain a substantial part of their practice in product liability or appellate matters exclusively for defendants.

Eden is the Practice Group Leader for Schwabe’s Products Litigation Practice Group. Throughout his 25-year legal career, he has gained extensive experience in a broad range of civil litigation, including product liability, professional liability and catastrophic injury. In addition to his product liability work, Eden also has significant experience handling general commercial litigation, including UCC matters. He has successfully tried more than 80 jury trials to verdict in the state and federal courts of Oregon and Washington.

As a result of his extensive trial experience, he has been retained by many corporate and other clients to counsel them on how to control litigation costs through arbitration, mediation and other alternative dispute resolution methods. He has also advised U.S. product manufacturers, distributors, and sellers on product modifications and risk management strategies designed to avoid future litigation. Eden has been selected for inclusion on the Oregon Super Lawyers roster (2007-2013) and has been listed in Best Lawyers in America (2007-2013) for his work in Product Liability Litigation. Eden received his juris doctor degree from Lewis & Clark Law School (Northwestern School of Law).
