Pacific Northwest regional law firm Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt announced it has hired Brent Gale to join the firm’s energy and environmental practices group.

Gale brings more than 35 years’ experience in the utility industry, spanning work in regulatory litigation and appeals, utility regulation, mergers and acquisitions, state legislation and government affairs, as well as corporate counsel.
Gale consults with utilities and government agencies on business strategies, mergers/acquisitions, rates, regulation, government affairs, state legislation, distributed energy resources and renewable energy. He also previously served as a senior vice -president of Berkshire Hathaway Energy Company and held other positions with subsidiaries of that company, including serving as a member of the board of directors of PacifiCorp and V.P. – General Counsel of a Midwest utility. Gale received his Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor degrees from Drake University, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa. Gale is admitted to practice only in the state of Iowa and will be supervised by shareholders in the Seattle and Portland offices.
