Professional Experience
Katherine Tank is the head of Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt's Bend office, and strengthens the firm's labor and employment law practice with her recognized expertise serving employers and businesses throughout Oregon.  She is also a noted speaker, conducting labor and employment law seminars for HR managers, supervisors and lawyers.

Prior to establishing a successful private practice in Bend, Ms. Tank was a partner at Perkins Coie in Anchorage, Alaska, where she represented clients such as Alaska Airlines, University of Alaska, and BP Exploration. Her experience also includes positions at the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon, and she served as a visiting foreign attorney in Brussels, Belgium.  

Ms. Tank's clients include Clear One Health Plans, Deschutes Brewery, DiLusso-Be Bop, LLC, Mt. Bachelor, High Desert Museum, Norman Building & Design and Sunriver Resort.

Professional & Community Activities
Ms. Tank is the past 2003 president of the Human Resources Association of Central Oregon (HRACO), a local chapter of the national Society for Human Resource Management, and is a regular guest on Good Morning Central Oregon to discuss various employment-related topics. She was voted Human Resources Professional of the Year by the HRACO membership in 2004, and received the Oregon Employer Council's 2008 Outstanding Service Award. She also served as Editor-in-Chief of the Oregon Law Review in 1987-1988. She is a current member of the Oregon State Bar Labor & Employment Section and serves on the Executive Committee for the Employment Section.  Currently, she serves on the Board of Directors and as President Elect for Economic Development For Central Oregon, Inc. (EDCO). She is also the Chair Elect of the Bend Chamber of Commerce, Chair for the Central Oregon Employer Council, and is the Legislative Affairs Chair for HRACO.

Ms. Tank has been named an Oregon Super Lawyer by Law & Politics magazine for her work in employment law. This peer-elected distinction is bestowed upon only the top 5% of all attorneys in the state of Oregon.
