Professional Experience Penny Godwin serves as Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt's Director of Paralegal Services with firm wide administrative responsibility for all facets of the firm's paralegal department, which includes all non attorney legal specialists in the Portland, Seattle and Bend offices. Ms. Godwin is also involved in the strategic planning and execution of the firm's practice management support systems, litigation support planning, and paralegal utilization practice development.
She joined the firm in 1986 as a probate, tax and estate planning paralegal with the firms Tax Department. She began her supervisory duties as the assistant paralegal manager in 2004 while continuing to practice as a tax paralegal. Ms. Godwin was promoted to the position of Director of Paralegal Services in 2006. Professional & Community Activities Ms. Godwin is a member of the International Paralegal Managers Association (IPMA), and a member of the Portland Chapter of American Mensa, Ltd. She volunteers as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for children in Grant County, Oregon. Ms. Godwin also volunteers regularly at the Blanchet House of Hospitality. She served our country as a US Marine Corp Reservist for twelve years.
