Professional Experience
Sharon Rye joined Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt in 2008, and focuses her practice in the area of employment litigation. She is experienced in various aspects of employment law, including discrimination, harassment, wage and hour issues, wrongful discharge, retaliation, and administrative proceedings. Previously, Ms. Rye was a summer associate at the firm and clerked for the Portland City Attorney's Office, where she assisted city attorneys in their roles as advisors and counsel for the city of Portland.
During law school, Ms. Rye worked at Just Children, a child advocacy program run by the Legal Aid and Justice Center in Charlottesville, Virginia. She also served on the editorial board of the Virginia Environmental Law Review and as president of the Virginia Environmental Law Forum. Professional & Community Activities Ms. Rye is a member of the Multnomah Bar Association and the Oregon State Bar Association. She is on the YOUthFilm Committee of Multnomah Bar Association, which sponsors a film competition for students in Oregon. Ms. Rye also coaches the Grant High School Mock Trial team, and is active with Big Brothers Big Sisters Columbia Northwest.
