Professional Experience Rich Bailey works in both our Portland and Vancouver offices and focuses his legal practice in the areas of commercial real estate and real estate based lending, with a special emphasis on the development of condominiums, planned communities and mixed use projects. Mr. Bailey is a LEED Green Associate, accredited through the Green Building Certification Institute.
He has a broad range of experiences in many different types of real estate transactions, including representation of: • Developers and builders in the acquisition and development of land for residential, commercial and mixed uses, including negotiation of development agreements with municipalities and other developers • Owners and investors in the acquisition and sale of office buildings, retail centers and industrial parks, and the leasing of space within such facilities • Developers and builders in the creation of condominiums and planned communities and the formation of condominium and homeowners' associations • Big-box retailers in the acquisition, leasing and development of land for retail stores (both free-standing and as part of a shopping center), including the negotiation of reciprocal easement and operation agreements and development agreements • Borrowers and lenders in connection with construction and permanent real estate financing • Property owners and developers in the formation of special purpose entities and private equity financing for real estate projects Professional & Community Activities • City of Vancouver Planning Commission (former Vice Chairman) • Treasurer/Secretary, Clark County Titans Youth Foundation • Participant, Leadership Clark County, Class of 2009 • Member, International Council of Shopping Centers • Member, Oregon State Bar, Washington State Bar Association, Michigan Bar Association, and American Bar Association
