Professional Experience Since joining Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt in 1991, LaJean Humphries, Library Manager, has been responsible for administration of library services for the firm's offices in Oregon, Washington, and Washington, D.C. The library has a staff of four serving all firm attorneys and staff. The collection contains over 4,500 titles (20,000 volumes) including a large collection of nautical charts and land use maps. Library bibliographic records are searchable through OCLC.
Ms. Humphries chaired the first Intranet Focus Team that developed SchwabeNet. Ms. Humphries regularly presents CLE and training classes (many OSB accredited) in-house and for outside groups on use of the Internet for legal research.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Humphries had experience working in academic, public, law, and school libraries. Ms. Humphries has significant experience with retrospective conversion projects, library moves and space planning, online research, and online research training. Ms. Humphries also has extensive experience in casework specializing in permanent planning and termination of parental rights. Professional & Community Activities Ms. Humphries is a contributor to professional publications and programs on a range of topics including computer assisted legal research and Internet evaluation and research. She is active in professional library associations and is a past president of the Oregon Chapter Special Libraries Association.
