Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt attorney Stephanie Pennix Berntsen was named a “Rising Star” in this month’s issue of Washington Law & Politics. This is the second year that Berntsen has received this honor from her peers.
The magazine polls Washington’s “Super Lawyers” to identify up-and-coming lawyers who are 40 years or younger and have been in practice ten or fewer years. Only the top 2.5 percent of Washington lawyers receive this distinction.
Berntsen specializes in employment and securities litigation, defense of injury claims and commercial litigation. She successfully resolves client matters at trials and arbitrations, including NASD financial services regulations and gender discrimination matters.
A member of the California and Washington State Bars, Berntsen provides pro-bono services to the Catholic Community Services Legal Action Center and was active in the Washington statewide initiative for clean air in the workplace. She is also a board member for the Work Force Development Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing work and life skills to special needs high school students in Snohomish, Wash.
