Regional law firm Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt announced today that Katherine Tank, a shareholder in the firm’s Portland office, received the 2008 Distinguished Service Award from the Oregon Employer Council (OEC) for outstanding service at its annual meeting held during the first week of May.
"Katherine has been a driving force in our state to help educate and inform businesses about labor and employment matters," said OEC manager Marney Roddick.
Since the award’s inception in 2001, only three recipients, including Katherine Tank, have been honored. Tank serves on the board of the Central Oregon Employer Council, one of 20 chapters located throughout the State of Oregon, and was honored with the Distinguished Service Award because of her vast commitment to local businesses and communities.
Tank participates in training seminars that help address small business concerns and questions. These seminars often focus on shedding light onto legal matters that can be ambiguous and challenging to understand.
Tank focuses her practice in the areas of employment law and labor. She was the 2003 president of the Human Resources Association of Central Oregon, a local chapter of the National Society for Human Resource Management, and is a regular guest on Good Morning Central Oregon, where she discusses various employment-related topics.
