Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt Plans Move to New 360 Bond Building

The Central Oregon office of regional law firm Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt will soon be moving to new upscale offices in the just completed 360 Bond Building located in the Old Mill District. The firm will occupy 9,500 square feet on the fourth floor of the building when it moves in the fall of 2009.

"We are excited to create a space for our attorneys and staff that reflects the culture of our firm and our clients here in Central Oregon," said Schwabe Managing Partner Mark Long. "In addition to the exceptional Class A office space and the convenient location, we were taken with the building's sustainable features, which echo the firm's commitment to sustainable business practices."

The five-story, 88,000-square-foot building is the largest Class A office building in Oregon east of the Cascades. Additionally, the eco-friendly features of the building make it unique among Bend-area commercial office properties. Most noted among these features is a roof-top garden, which will draw most of its water from snow and rain runoff, and will provide natural weather insulation for the building. Additionally, the building has incorporated native plants and walking paths that create an inviting outdoor space for the building's tenants. Developers of the building will be seeking Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) gold-level certification.

"After looking at numerous office building options throughout the city, it was clear that the 360 Bond building best suited Schwabe's requirements and will allow the firm to expand as it continues to grow," said Dan Swift, senior director with Cushman & Wakefield. "The building is also perfect for staff and clients with abundant onsite parking and an ideal location next to great shopping, restaurants, and walking trails that are minutes to downtown Bend."

Schwabe is the third major tenant for this building. Others include ODS, Western Title and Escrow Company and Gerding-Edlen Development Company, all owners of the building.

"We were happy to be able to match one of the region's highest profile law firms with a building that met their requirements for Class A office space," said Erich Schultz, partner at Compass Commercial Real Estate, who represented Schwabe as well as the landlord. "The firm fits in well with the other prestigious companies that are leasing space in 360 Bond."

Schwabe's Central Oregon office is home to more than 20 employees. Always attentive to the region's evolving economy, its legal team focuses on several areas of law including: business formation and transactions; employment and labor; general and commercial litigation; tax and estate planning; intellectual property; and immigration. The firm's office is currently located at 549 SW Mill View Way in Bend.
