This month, regional law firm Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt promoted Karen Kervin to the position of Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). Kervin previously served as director of client relations and marketing.
"Karen is an extraordinarily talented individual and has become a driving force in the firm when it comes to developing our approach to marketing and communications," said Mark Long, managing partner at Schwabe. "I'm extremely proud of and excited for Karen as she assumes this new expanded role."
As CMO, Kervin is tasked with firm-wide administrative responsibilities for all facets of Schwabe's client relations, marketing, public relations and business development activities. She will oversee marketing in the firm's offices located in Portland, Bend, and Salem, Ore., and Seattle and Vancouver, Wash.
Kervin joined Schwabe in 1985 as a litigation paralegal, assuming supervisory duties of the firm's paralegals and project assistants in 1996 while continuing to practice as a paralegal. In 2000, Kervin became part of firm administration as the director of legal recruiting and paralegal manager. And in 2006, she assumed the role of director of client relations and marketing.
In addition to her role as CMO at Schwabe, Kervin serves on the Advocacy and Awareness board for the City Club of Portland and on the Communications Committee for Camp Fire USA, Portland Metro Council.
