Overview
Design patents have been getting increased attention recently. As the Apple v. Samsung case concludes, the design patents outweighed the utility patents both in terms of financial advantage and the issues raised. Other recent cases have also increased the value of design patents, particularly at a time when utility patents are under attack from the patent office and the courts.
