Pacific Northwest regional law firm Schwabe, Williamson ‎& Wyatt announced it has hired Brent Gale to join the firm’s energy and environmental ‎practices group.‎

‎”We are very excited about the expanded level of insight and experience we can offer to our ‎clients in the energy and utility industry with Brent Gale joining our team,” said Mark Long, ‎managing partner at Schwabe.‎

Gale brings more than 35 years’ experience in the utility industry, spanning work in regulatory ‎litigation and appeals, utility regulation, mergers and acquisitions, state legislation and ‎government affairs, as well as corporate counsel. ‎

Gale consults with utilities and government agencies on business ‎strategies, mergers/acquisitions, rates, regulation, government affairs, state legislation, ‎distributed energy resources and renewable energy. He also previously served as a senior vice -president of Berkshire Hathaway Energy Company and held other positions with subsidiaries of ‎that company, including serving as a member of the board of directors of PacifiCorp and V.P. – ‎General Counsel of a Midwest utility. Gale received his Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor degrees from ‎Drake University, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa.‎ Gale is admitted to practice only in the state of Iowa and will be supervised by shareholders in the Seattle and Portland offices. ‎
