From Oregon to Washington, Associate to Rookie, Schwabe Attorneys Lauded at Annual Meetings
Overview
Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt, P.C. attorneys were big winners at the Associated General Contractors (AGC) 2020 Annual Dinners in both Washington and Oregon on January 24th. Connie Sue Martin was the recipient of the Associate of the Year Award 2019 from AGC of Washington, and Paige Spratt received the Rookie of the Year Award 2019 from AGC Oregon – Columbia Chapter.
As the chair of the AGCW Environmental Committee, Connie Sue Martin was praised for her exceptional leadership in the negotiation, passage, and the implementation of Washington’s Expedited Voluntary Cleanup Bill. Connie Sue testified to the Washington State Legislature on behalf of the AGCW and then negotiated with the Department of Ecology on this matter. Her diligent efforts helped the passage of this important bill, which hastens the cleanup of certain contaminated properties and transforms them for more productive economic use. Connie Sue was also a leader in the fish passage culvert project in Washington. Connie Sue is a member of Schwabe’s Natural Resources and Real Estate and Construction industry groups.
Paige Spratt was awarded the Rookie of the Year 2019 by AGC Oregon – Columbia Chapter for “jumping in head first” to her duties with the AGC. Chapter President, Sandy Trainor, nominated Paige for taking on her first leadership role with AGC Oregon, chairing the Professional and Associates Council. Paige was successful in revamping the Council and re-engaging Associate members. Paige also served on the nominating committee and was selected to serve as Counsel to the Board starting in 2020. Paige is a member of Schwabe’s Real Estate and Construction and Transportation, Ports and Maritime industry groups.
The AGC was created to support and represent the interests of the commercial construction industry. Schwabe is proud to have two such lauded attorneys positively impacting our clients’ interests in both Washington and Oregon.
