After the Supreme Court's Health Care Reform Decision: What Employers Now Need to Do
On June 28, 2012, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld the constitutionality of the health plan provisions of the reform legislation now known as the "Affordable Care Act." A number of the provisions of the law have already become effective. As to the remaining provisions, many employers understandably had taken a wait-and-see approach as the challenges to the law made their way through the courts. However, with the legality of the legislation confirmed, employers must prepare to comply with the new mandates. Significantly, certain important actions must be taken during the remaining months of 2012.
