Peter E. Heuser
Overview
For the past 40 years, Peter Heuser has been focusing his practice in the areas of patent prosecution and litigation of patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret matters in federal and state court and in the International Trade Commission. He has represented clients in inter partes review procedures in the Patent and Trademark Office, and has successfully taken many cases through trial as a first chair litigator. A registered patent attorney and trained mechanical engineer, Pete is often retained as an expert witness in intellectual property cases. In prior years, Pete has repeatedly been recognized as Best Lawyers’ Portland Lawyer of the Year – Patent Litigation.
Until recently, Pete has been writing weekly summaries of significant patent cases that are distributed to a large mailing list of patent attorneys across the country. He has since turned that task over to others in the department in order to focus on his practice but continues to write and speak from time to time on important intellectual property topics.
