Charmin Shiely, attorney and shareholder in the Portland office of regional law firm Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt, recently joined the board of Virginia Garcia Memorial Foundation.

“Schwabe has a long history of assisting the underserved in our communities,” said Mark Long, Schwabe’s managing partner. “We are proud to have Charmin involved with the Virginia Garcia Memorial Foundation and look forward to the positive influence and energy she will bring to the organization.”

Shiely focuses her law practice in the areas of business transactions and corporate finance, including public and private mergers, asset sales, public offerings, and private placements. Her law practice also includes advising on executive and equity compensation matters. She has significant experience assisting financial institutions and also is part of the firm’s corporate team for maritime transactions. Shiely graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, School of Law, with a juris doctor degree, and has her undergraduate degree from Duke University.

The mission of the Virginia Garcia Memorial Foundation is to provide enduring support for the Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center through funding, community relations and the cultivation of community friendships, partners and donors. The Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center works to provide high-quality, comprehensive, and culturally appropriate primary health care to the communities of Washington and Yamhill counties with a special emphasis on migrant and seasonal farmworkers and others with barriers to receiving health care.
