Carmen Calzacorta Receives John L. Schwabe Client Service Award
This month, Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt, a Pacific Northwest law firm, honored shareholder Carmen Calzacorta with its firm-wide client service award. Each year, the "John L. Schwabe Client Service Award" recognizes an attorney in the firm who goes "above and beyond" in his or her dedication and service to firm clients. Recipients of the award are nominated by their colleagues and then selected by the firm's Client Service Committee.
"Carmen is an outstanding attorney and leader, and is truly deserving of this distinction," said Mark Long, Schwabe's managing partner.
In addition to peer recognition, the firm makes a $1,000 donation to the nonprofit organization of the award recipient's choice. In this case, Calzacorta has chosen to divide the donation equally between SOLV and Special Olympics Oregon.
Calzacorta focuses her practice in the area of corporate law, with an emphasis on securities law compliance, corporate finance transactions, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and general business advice. She is the practice group leader of the firm's General Business Group and co-practice group leader of the firm's Corporate Finance and Securities Group. Calzacorta graduated from the University of Oregon School of Law with a juris doctor degree.
John L. Schwabe passed away on January 29, 2011, at the age of 91. He joined the firm in 1952.
