Bert Markovich, a shareholder in the Seattle office of regional law firm Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt, recently joined the board of CHOICES Education Group.

CHOICES is a Seattle-based national nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering students with vital tools to increase career and life opportunities. Started by a father helping his own troubled son, CHOICES offers classroom workshops and a new cell phone texting game that help teens understand the consequences of dropping out of school and the opportunities available to them if they pursue their education. Since its formation in 1985, CHOICES has served more than 6 million middle and high school students across North America.

Markovich focuses his practice on the defense of maritime claims, complex litigation and the defense of claims involving product liability. He has been recognized as a Washington Super Lawyer and is rated AV by Matindale-Hubbell, its highest acknowledgement for legal ability and ethics. Markovich graduated from the University of Oregon School of Law with a juris doctor degree. He represents clients in federal and state courts in Washington, Oregon and Alaska.
