Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt announced today that Carmen Calzacorta, a shareholder in the firm’s Business & Corporate Practice Group, will chair its Privately Held Businesses & Enterprises Transitions Group. This is a multidisciplinary team of experienced Schwabe attorneys who counsel clients on how to protect, maximize, capture, and then keep the wealth created in their closely-held businesses. Calzacorta succeeds Jeff Bird as chair of the firm’s Business Transitions Group.

Calzacorta focuses her practice in the area of corporate law, with an emphasis on securities law compliance, corporate finance transactions, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and general business advice. Calzacorta is a member of the firm’s chairs council and a former co-practice group leader of the firm’s General Business Group. She is recognized for her work in corporate and business law by U.S. News/Best Lawyers in America, Chambers USA, Legal 500 and Oregon Super Lawyers. Calzacorta received her juris doctor degree from University of Oregon School of Law.
