U.S. News – Best Lawyers in America, one of the nation’s leading publications in the rankings of law firms and attorneys, awarded Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt with a “Tier One National Ranking” in Timber Law for the fourth consecutive year.

“We are very honored to once again receive this national recognition for our forest products industry practice,” said Mark Long, Schwabe’s managing partner. “Schwabe’s forest products industry practice has played a significant role in our firm’s history and growth, and to see it repeatedly recognized on a national level highlights our dedication to our clients in this industry.”

Schwabe’s Forest Products Industry practice is one of the largest and oldest in the Pacific Northwest. Through an expanding network of strategic relations with international and local counsel, Schwabe represents clients across the country and internationally on a broad spectrum of issues related to forest products. Collectively, Schwabe clients own or manage more than 10 million acres of forestland in the United States and overseas, as well as operate and manage manufacturing, distribution and other complementary forest products businesses.

Best Lawyers in America also named Kirk Johansen, a partner in the firm’s Portland office, as “Lawyer of the Year” in Natural Resources Law for the Portland metro region. “We are proud to represent our loyal timber industry clients and it is a true pleasure to work with our nationally recognized timber law team at Schwabe,” said Johansen.

Schwabe received recognition in the forest products category based on outstanding client survey outcomes and the firm’s strong reputation among competing attorneys in the same practice area.
