Timber Law given highest national honor, recognized as Tier 1
Overview
PORTLAND, Ore. – November 23, 2016 – Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt proudly announced today that five industry groups were recognized by U.S. News—Best Law Firms, one of the nation's leading publications in the ranking of law firms and attorneys. Schwabe's Timber Law group was recognized as a national Tier 1 firm, the highest honor awarded. The Timber Law group is a prominent area of Schwabe’s Natural Resources industry focus.
A full listing of honors for Schwabe is provided below.
Earlier this year, Schwabe announced a firm-wide shift to key industries in direct response to extensive client feedback, which revealed businesses’ desire for their lawyers to have deep industry knowledge, not just legal acumen. This shift makes Schwabe one of only a handful of law firms to take this input to heart and organize around industries. Schwabe’s industry focus allows attorneys to develop a deep knowledge and experience and to then provide broad support for clients in their respective industries. Additional national rankings this year included a Tier 2 award for Litigation – Environmental Law and Native American Law. Schwabe’s Admiralty & Maritime Law and Mining Law practices were awarded with a Tier 3 national ranking.
“Our team is appreciative of the Tier 1 Timber Law firm ranking and is proud to be the recipient of national recognition, which we believe reflects our deep industry knowledge, legal proficiency and strategic counsel,” said Elizabeth Howard, Natural Resources Industry Group Leader at Schwabe.
