Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt proudly ‎announced that six industry group areas were recognized by U.S. News—Best Law ‎Firms, one of the nation’s leading publications in the ranking of law firms and ‎attorneys. Schwabe’s Timber Law group was named Law Firm of the Year, the ‎highest honor awarded by the peer review report. This is the fourth time the Timber Law group, a prominent area of Schwabe’s ‎Natural Resources industry focus, has earned the Law Firm of the Year designation and the eighth consecutive year it has been recognized as a national Tier 1 firm.

“Our team is excited to receive this incredible recognition and proud that our work is earning national honors,” said Greg Fullem, longtime timber attorney and Shareholder at Schwabe.‎ “The award reflects over a century of leading timber transactions and projects throughout the United States. The forest products industry has long been an important focus for the firm and we will continue to grow and enhance what has become one of our most highly regarded practice areas.”

Last year, Schwabe reorganized to focus on industry vertical practice areas as opposed to traditional legal specialties. This was in direct ‎response to extensive client feedback, which revealed businesses’ desire for their ‎lawyers to have deep industry knowledge, not just legal acumen. This shift makes ‎Schwabe one of only a handful of law firms to take this input to heart and organize ‎around industries. Schwabe’s industry focus allows attorneys to develop a deep ‎knowledge and experience and to then provide broad support for clients in their ‎respective industries.

Additional national rankings this year include Tier 2 awards for ‎Litigation – Environmental and Native American Law. Schwabe’s Admiralty and ‎Maritime Law, Mining Law, and Securities/Capital Markets Law practice areas were awarded with Tier 3 national rankings. ‎
