PORTLAND, Ore. – October 24, 2016 –Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt is honored to have been named by the Pacific Northwest Defense Coalition (PNDC) as the PNDC Sustaining Member of the Year. The annual award is given in recognition of Schwabe’s leadership in the Pacific Northwest and its support for PNDC’s mission of strengthening the region’s defense and security industry businesses.

Earlier this year, Schwabe announced a reorganization and rebrand in direct response to extensive feedback from clients that revealed businesses’ desire for their lawyers to have deeper industry knowledge, not just legal expertise. The reorganization makes Schwabe one of only a handful of law firms nationally to organize around industry groups rather than legal practice areas. Schwabe’s industry focus allows attorneys to develop a deep experience and provide broad support for manufacturers of products that are used in the military and defense industry.

“Schwabe is honored to receive this award. Our commitment to our clients and the local economy mirrors the commitment of our clients to the Department of Defense and those serving our country. PNDC was founded to focus national attention on the initiative, commitment and excellence of its members. We are just honored to be a part of this tradition,” said Mark Long, Managing Partner at Schwabe.

PNDC will formally recognize Schwabe’s leadership at the 2016 PNDC Annual Dinner on November 9, featuring keynote speaker Frank Kendall, Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics.

“We are honored to present Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt with the 2016 Pacific Northwest Defense ‎Coalition (PNDC) Sustaining Member of the Year Award,” said Dave Hunt, PNDC’s CEO. “Schwabe has been a ‎long-term partner in lending their support and expertise to our association. Their dedication to understand ‎our members’ businesses and focus on manufacturing success has provided unique value to our community ‎of Northwest defense and security businesses. We are grateful for Schwabe’s partnership in strengthening ‎our member businesses, our region’s economy, and our nation’s security.”    ‎
