The regional law firm Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt recently expanded its ERISA (employee benefits) and employment law practice with the addition of Wally Miller as a shareholder.

“Wally is a highly regarded employee benefits attorney,” said Mark Long, managing partner at Schwabe. “I look forward to the contributions he will make to the firm and our clients.”

Miller comes to Schwabe from Gleaves, Swearingen, Potter & Scott, and will focus his practice in the areas of ERISA and employee benefits law. He advises employers, including publicly held and private employers and municipalities, in all aspects of employee benefits, including retirement plans, health and welfare plans, non-qualified deferred compensation plans, and ERISA compliance. ERISA, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, is a federal statute establishing standards for employee benefit plans in private industry.

Miller is a Fellow of the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel, the preeminent professional association for employee benefits attorneys. He has received recognition in The Best Lawyers in America list and has been selected as an Oregon Super Lawyer by Oregon Super Lawyers magazine for the past four years. Miller graduated from DePaul University College of Law with a juris doctor degree in addition to a master’s degree in taxation.
