Regional law firm Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt recently expanded its intellectual property group with the addition of Brantley Shumaker as an associate.

Shumaker will continue to focus his practice in the area of intellectual property, particularly patent prosecution. He has prosecuted patent applications in electrical, medical, mechanical, business, computer networking/security and software technology fields. Shumaker also has prepared license agreements in the fields of software, biotechnology and digital imaging, and litigated in the areas of patent, trademark, copyright and trade secrets.

Prior to joining Schwabe, Shumaker was an associate at Kolisch Hartwell, PC. He also currently teaches as an adjunct professor at the University of Oregon Law School. Shumaker graduated from Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology with a juris doctor degree.
