I am honored to be named the new CEO of Schwabe, where I will lead a team of lawyers who provide exceptional legal counsel while drawing on a deep understanding of our clients’ businesses and industries.

Few people would expect a 125-year-old law firm to drive change and innovation.  But that’s Schwabe.  While we draw great inspiration from those who have come before us, we accept the responsibility of adapting to the demands of today’s clients and the markets in which they operate.

As an electrical engineer and patent attorney, I have spent my entire career working with innovators. I know that bold action cannot succeed without careful analysis and planning. That’s why I’m proud of the thoughtful, multi-year process Schwabe went through to define its groundbreaking industry-based strategy designed to deliver excellent service to our clients.

This strategy was not the product of an internal discussion; its seeds were sown by listening to our clients.  In an age of global competition and rapid innovation, our clients asked for lawyers who understand their business and industry, who can see challenges and opportunities emerging, and who will place legal strategies into marketplace positioning.  This is our charge.

At Schwabe, we embrace the power of collaboration. It is the fuel that propels our clients’ success and builds community.  In my legal career, I have never worked with a more impressive group of professionals.  They are tireless in their pursuit of client objectives and selfless in their commitment to improving community.   And, importantly, they also know how to have fun.

I am excited to lead this firm, providing our clients with unrivaled legal services and supporting our lawyers with the tools they need to succeed.  Thanks to your valued partnership, I know Schwabe will continue to meet every challenge and opportunity the future brings.
