In the international ports, maritime, and energy industries, clients often find themselves faced with complicated litigation on matters involving shipping, environmental response, incident investigations, and regulatory issues in California’s intertwined regulatory landscape.
I have earned my clients’ trust because I provide timely, strategic, and uniquely tailored legal solutions for my clients and their underwriters. I am committed to understanding clients’ complex problems and guiding them with proactive, comprehensive solutions that meet their business and risk management needs.
I counsel a broad range of clients, including large-scale, privately held shipping companies and cargo operators, as well as Fortune 500 companies and their underwriters. I help clients navigate California’s high-stakes litigation landscape and regulatory framework. I provide strategic guidance for businesses on how to uphold corporate goals, standards, and reduce risk. I also have a keen interest in working with clients who are developing new maritime technologies for the larger maritime market and developing clean marine energy generation.
Prior to joining Schwabe, I practiced in Southern California at a boutique maritime firm. And while in law school, I externed for the late Justice Alex McDonald on the 4th District Court of Appeals.

- Represented vessel owners and operators in response to marine casualties; environmental investigation, remediation and enforcement actions; personal injury repatriation support and defense of claims; compliance planning, testing and training; and cargo and business disputes
- Represented terminal operators in response to marine casualties, personal injury claims, regulatory and contractual compliance, and risk management advisement
- Defended Fortune 500 company in complex mass tort litigation
