How I represent clients at Schwabe

I am a passionate and capable trial lawyer who assists clients of all sizes navigate the different stages of litigation. A strategic thinker who does not lose sight of the big picture, I utilize strong case management and advocacy skills to help clients obtain favorable results through agreement, motions practice, or trial.

I have a wide range of civil litigation experience in both state and federal court and represent clients facing product liability, premises liability, and other tort actions. I also have experience with intellectual property, real estate, and commercial disputes. I have tried multiple cases to verdict.

  • Part of a team that successfully defended a major semiconductor manufacturer in a potentially billion-dollar case involving claims of false advertising, fraud, negligence, and breach of contract, resulting in a unanimous jury verdict of not liable on all counts.
  • Defended numerous manufacturing clients in consumer goods product liability cases.
  • Successfully defended and settled serious injury cases for heavy equipment manufacturers.
  • Represented a valve manufacturing company in a case involving extensive property damage, obtaining a favorable resolution.
  • Successfully defended and settled numerous premises liability cases.
  • Represented a chemical manufacturing company in claims by the State of Oregon.
  • Successfully tried multiple cases to verdict, including a $1.5 million premises liability case where the jury found no liability.
  • Co-authored a compendium on Oregon product liability law and an Oregon BarBooks chapter on defenses to negligence.
  • Drafted memorandums on a variety of legal issues including breach of contract, environmental cleanup defense, products liability, and civil procedure.
  • Co-authored a Continuing Legal Education article on easements and a compendium on Oregon product liability law.
  • Researched and wrote a number of motions in Oregon circuit court.
  • Represented a domestic violence survivor in a restraining order matter and achieved a favorable outcome.
