How I represent clients at Schwabe
I am a litigator who focuses on commercial and business law. This includes matters involving tax, insurance coverage and defense, casualty, healthcare, and medical malpractice. I vigorously defend clients against professional liability issues and in complex business disputes. With a Master of Laws in Taxation, I assist with a wide array of tax-related disputes. I also represent clients in regulatory and licensure matters before state and federal boards and agencies.
While in law school, I was a Judicial Intern at the District Court, Western District of Washington, under Magistrate Judge Theresa L. Fricke, and interned with the United States Attorney’s Office in Washington, D.C., within the Cyber Crime Division. Prior to attending law school, I served in the United States Navy as an Intelligence Officer, supporting VAQ-142 and Carrier Strike Group 11.
Experience
- Assisted in over 90 matters involving commercial litigation, tax, insurance coverage, insurance defense, and casualty law. Conducted client intake meetings, drafted pleadings, motions, discovery, and pre-trial filings, led and defended depositions to include 30(b)(6) depositions in the process of successfully litigating matters
- Successfully argued in numerous motion hearings including dispositive motions, moves to arbitration, and discovery
- Represented plaintiffs in two matters in federal district courts
- Successfully represented clients in mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations
- Practiced in matters set in US Administrative Forums and taken to US Court of Appeals
- Reported on full trial proceeding in Eastern District of Washington, District Court for client
