Schwabe is proud to announce that its industry groups have earned 10 national and 42 regional rankings in the 2027 edition of Best Law Firms®. This year’s results include national Tier 1 rankings in Land Use and Zoning Law, Native American Law, and Natural Resources Law, two national tier promotions, and new rankings in eight practice areas, a clear reflection of the depth of talent across our industry groups and the trust our clients place in us.
Moving Up Nationally
Two practices climbed from national Tier 3 to national Tier 2 this year: Admiralty and Maritime Law, a cornerstone of our Ports and Maritime Industry Group, and Copyright Law, a core part of our intellectual property practice. Schwabe also earned national Tier 2 rankings in Environmental Law, Litigation – Environmental, and Trademark Law, along with national Tier 3 rankings in Litigation – Intellectual Property and Real Estate Law.
“It is an honor to earn a national Tier 1 ranking again this year, recognizing the work our team does every day for businesses that depend on our Nation’s abundant natural resources, including forests, minerals, agriculture, and energy. We’re proud to be recognized among the top firms in the country for this important work.” — Ryen Godwin, Natural Resources Industry Group Leader
Best Law Firms rankings are based on a rigorous evaluation process that includes client and peer feedback and an in-depth review of each firm’s experience and achievements. To be eligible for a ranking in a practice area, a firm must first have at least one lawyer recognized by The Best Lawyers in America® in that practice area. That individual recognition opens the door, and the outstanding work our teams do for clients builds the reputation behind these results.
Regional Strength Across Key Markets
Schwabe also earned 42 regional rankings across Alaska, Eugene, Portland, and Seattle, including 22 Tier 1 rankings. Portland led the way with 14 Tier 1 rankings, including seven new rankings this year, while new rankings in Tax Law (Portland Tier 1 and Seattle Tier 3) and Trusts and Estates (Portland Tier 1) further reflect the breadth of the firm’s business and estate planning capabilities.
